A special Public Grievance Redressal Camp, organized by the District Administration, was held at the Tanuku Municipal Office yesterday, witnessing a large turnout from local residents. Citizens presented petitions ranging from property disputes and civic amenities to welfare scheme applications. District Collector Dr. Rajeshwari addressed the attendees, assuring prompt action on all valid concerns. “These camps are vital for direct interaction and efficient resolution of public issues. We are committed to transparent and responsive governance,” she stated. Similar camps are planned for other mandals soon.

The Tanuku Traffic Police, in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation, has announced a new traffic management plan set to be implemented next week. This initiative aims to alleviate severe congestion, particularly in the bustling market area during peak hours. The plan includes designating one-way streets, relocating hawker zones, and increasing police presence to ensure smooth flow. DSP Sri. Suresh Kumar emphasized, “We understand the inconvenience caused by traffic. This plan is designed after extensive surveys and public feedback to make commuting easier and safer for everyone in Tanuku.

Tanuku Municipality has officially kicked off its ambitious “Green Tanuku” project, aimed at enhancing the town’s aesthetics and environmental health. The initiative will see the planting of thousands of saplings along major roads, in public parks, and around government buildings. Local residents and NGOs are urged to participate in the upcoming tree-plantation drives scheduled for next month. Mayor Smt. Anjali Devi stated, “Our goal is to transform Tanuku into one of the greenest towns in the district, improving air quality and creating serene public spaces for everyone.”
